Christmas Breakfast December 7th, 2018
The Bright Area Business Association Annual Christmas Breakfast was well attended. Diane and Mike Bender of Logan Supermart catered breakfast. Santa welcomed everyone at the door with Christmas greetings. President Bebe Kinnett talked about the many achievements and goals that BABA accomplished in 2018. Most importantly the 501(3-c) non-profit status finally completed. Thanks to Jim Kinnett and Dan Cross for their hard work on that task.
Bright Fire and EMS were presented with a check for $12,000 representing total BABA donations to the organization for 2018. North Dearborn Pantry board members were presented with a check for $2000 from the BABA organization. The Bright Lions Club received a donation check for $2000 from BABA to support their community services and for their generosity in allowing BABA to use their building for monthly meetings. These donations were proceeds from the Basket Booth at the Bright Festival and the Golf Outing.
Dale Lutz was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his many years of promoting Bright businesses and his success as a small business owner of Cornerstone Realty and Lutz Auction Services. Carol Kalwa from Freddie’s Steakburgers and Frozen Custard in Harrison was presented with the Community Service Award for her generous support and sponsorships at BABA fundraisers this year. Don and Debby Stutz from At The Barn Winery were presented with the Business of the Year Award for their success as small business owners and generous support of the BABA organization.
The slate of 2019 officers was presented as: President-Debby Stutz, Vice President-Nicole Wuestefeld, Treasurer-Joe Alig, Secretary-Lonny Barrett. Also, on the Leadership team are Membership Chair-Diane Bender, Education Chair-Jennifer Getzendanner, Golf Chair-Jim Kinnett, BABA-Q Chair-Debby Stutz and Past President – Bebe Kinnett. Officers were elected by unanimous vote. Many thanks to Bebe Kinnett for her (several) terms as President and her leadership of the organization.
