Presentations:
Dr. Trent Austin, MD, Holistic and Natural Medicines
Dr. Austin provided an informative and educational presentation on the benefits of Holistic and Natural medicines which can aid in the healing process of many chronic illnesses when conventional medications are not working or the side effects are no longer tolerated. The required elements of a Healthy Diet include; reduced sugar intake, fermented foods, low gluten, 3 meals a day (not 6). Natural foods discussed; cannabis, cod liver oils, coconut oil, mushrooms. Fasting can also aid in a healthy diet regiment.
Dr. Andrew Jackson, SDCSC Superintendent
Dr. Jackson provided an update on the SDCSC proposed improvements project that will be voted on during next week’s School Board meeting. The improvements will focus on the Top Priority of “Safe, Warm and Dry:”
-Safe:
– Access Control
– PA System Replacement
– Traffic Pattern/Site Circulation
– Fire Alarm System Improvements
– Pool renovations
– Warm
– HVAC System replacement
– Dry
– New Roofs – all Buildings
– Exterior Envelope – all Buildings
Overall cost of all improvements will be ~$48,000,000 and will take ~3 years to complete
Membership: No new recent members
Current membership is @ 70
Treasurer’s Report – no update
Joe Alig has resigned the position, Diane will assume the position until new officers are in place for next year
Community Impact Auction:
– Saturday November 2nd at the VFW Post 7570 in Harrison, OH from 6-10 pm
– A charity auction to support local nonprofits
– $15 per person, presale
– $20 per person at the door
– We are looking for items of value that can be donated for the auction, no clothing.
Golf Outing: No Update
BABA Ad in the Beacon: the ad was in the July edition of the Beacon just prior to the Community Festival
Next month’s meeting: Thursday September 12th, At the Barn Winery, Finger foods and Drinks provided
