V. New Business

Greg Gronwall shared an e-mail with the group that he received from the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) concerning the recent BABA golf outing held at Hidden Valley Golf Club.  The letter advised BABA that IGC did not have a record of a permit issued for the split-the-pot raffle and door prizes that were awarded.  After much discussion, it was decided Greg would contacted BABA’s Vice President, Davie Lynch and ask him to respond to the e-mail and indicate BABA would review all IGC guidelines prior to any future events.

VI. Guest Introductions

Celeste Calvitto then introduced the guest speaker, Bill Ward, President  of the North Dearborn Pantry.  Bill gave a presentation on the Pantry including:

  • statistics on patrons served,
  • types of services available (food, clothing and resource center), and
  • the Pantry’s resources for supplies, food, etc. (Kroger, Wal-Mart, Panera Bread, Trauth Dairy, Schwann’s Foods, the Free Store Food Bank in Cincinnati, and many local food drives and business).

Bill encouraged everyone to visit the Pantry and get involved in the community.

Dale Lutz suggested that BABA hold a future meeting at the Pantry so everyone can take a tour of the facility.  Bill Ward thought this was an excellent idea and is ready to schedule a date.

Dan Cross then presented a check for $500 raised at the recent BABA golf outing to Bill Ward to assist with the Pantry’s services.

Mike Armbruster then introduced Mr. Chris Irwin with the South Pointe Condominium Association.  Chris said he is very interested in the local community and thankful for local businesses.
