Bebe Kinnett opened the meeting on November 14, 2014 with reference to official business conducted at the previous meeting on October 8 at At The Barn Winery. A vote by everyone in attendance concluded that the mission statement should be changed by taking out the phrase “involved in lobbying”. The association is looking at incorporating and that particular phrase will not be used in that capacity. Reference also was made to an enjoyable evening at the winery. Don and Debby Stutz offered to host another meeting anytime.

New slate of officers include Greg Gronwell, President; Jim Mansfield, Vice President; Dan Cross, Treasurer; Celeste Calvitto, Education; Lori Enright and Debby Stutz, Co Secretary; Diane Bender and Matt Davis, Co Membership. As past President, Bebe Kinnett’s dedication and determination will prove to be big shoes to fill.

Treasurer’s report included memberships paid and the Title Sponsorship for the BABA golf outing in May. Dan will begin the process to file as a 5013C nonprofit organization.

May 18 will be the BABA Golf Outing at Hidden Valley Golf Club. Last year there were 102 golfers and it is the hope we will match or surpass than attendance. Pat Sullivan suggested that we invite Tommy Tuberville as a speaker for the outing.

July 24 & 25 is the Bright Festival this year. BABA will host the basket booth again as usual. More info at a later date.

A reminder to everyone who uses social media to “share” the BABA Facebook page. The guest speaker Dr. John Williams, Interim Superintendent was unable to attend due to an unexpected death of a coworker. There was much discussion about closing NDES within the group including how the business community needs to be more connected to the classroom.

There was a reminder that the Bright Elementary Craft Show is Saturday November 22 from 10am to 2pm.
